Because MTH regenerative turbines have the pumping capability to handle up to 80% entrapped vapor in certain circumstances, they can be used on DAF applications, where air is injected into the pump inlet along with the fluid. The air/water mixture is then pumped into the bottom of a large wastewater tank where the cloud of air bubbles attaches to the waste materials, which then float to the top of the tank where they are removed by skimming.
